SUMMARY:Lunch seminar: "Macrodebts" in microservices
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to another Software Center lunch seminar\, this time from theme 2:\n“Macrodebts” in microservices: understanding and managing them \nSpeakers: Antonio Martini and Saulo Soares de Toledo \nThe microservices architectural style is increasing in popularity because it helps companies deliver value to their customers fast and continuously. However\, a microservice architecture is prone to costly architectural technical debt (ATD)\, if not timely identified and avoided or removed. The most important ATDs must be prioritized. Still\, there is limited knowledge regarding the identification and prioritization of ATD in companies developing or migrating to microservices. We conducted a set of studies in 10 companies on the identification and management of ATD in microservices. We propose a prioritization strategy by presenting data from experienced companies\, and we measure the benefits and costs of reducing ATD in microservices.
