SUMMARY:Lunch seminar: Critical Requirements Engineering
DESCRIPTION:Speaker: Ola Leifler\, LiU\n\n\nUnderstanding how to efficiently build and deploy software\, whether through continuous integration\, adoption of AI techniques or service-based business models\, requires critical thinking and reflection on ideas and outcomes. Similarly\, critical thinking is essential in understanding what to build and why. Critical requirements engineering is a term to describe a framework for critically analyzing the reasoning behind and decisions taken in designing new systems. This talk will present an outline of the Critical Systems Heuristics which form the basis for thinking about requirements\, and how to employ Critical Requirements Engineering as part of a design process.\n_________________________________________________\n\nMicrosoft Teams meeting\n\nJoin on your computer or mobile app\nClick here to join the meeting\n\nOr call in (audio only)\n+46 8 505 323 41\,\,170344399#   Sweden\, Stockholm\n\nPhone Conference ID: 170 344 399# \nFind a local number | Reset PIN\n\n\n\nLearn More | Help | Meeting options\n\n\n______________________________

SUMMARY:Lunch seminar: The ASIL-Palette for FuSa and SOTIF
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the next Software Center lunch seminar hosted by theme 2:\nThe ASIL-Palette for FuSa and SOTIF: focus on the “true” value of controllability and the need for its dynamic reconfiguration \nSpeaker: Barbara Gallina\, MDU \nIn this talk\, the notion of ASIL-Automotive Safety Integrity Level will be recalled as well as its role for functional safety (FuSa) and safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF). Then\, the attention will be focused on controllability\, one of the attributes charactering the ASIL. The goal of the talk is to gradually reveal the socio-technical nature of the automotive systems (organisational/regulatory aspects\, human drivers\, and technology) and the need for their dynamic reconfiguration\, based on the “true” value of controllability for effective safety. The orchestration of a simplified Lane Departure Warning System\, the corresponding standards and regulations\, and human drivers will be in focus for illustrating such a need. \nMost welcome to the seminar and please share this invitation with your colleagues! \n_____________________________________________ \nMicrosoft Teams-möte \nJobba på datorn eller mobilappen \nKlicka här för att ansluta till mötet \nEller ring in (endast ljud) \n+46 8 505 218 36\,\,90751672#   Sweden\, Stockholm \nTelefonkonferens-ID: 907 516 72# \nHitta ett lokalt nummer | Återställ PIN-kod \nLäs mer | Mötesalternativ

SUMMARY:Lunch seminar: Anomaly detection in radio networks and critically ill patients – similarities and differences in using ML
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: Anomaly detection techniques are well-known in machine learning. Tools and methods like dynamically moving average\, isolation forests or thresholds are used often. Although they are defined for general use\, they often inhibit different results if used in computer-generated data or human-generated data. In this seminar\, I will present the latest results from the associated project microHRV\, where we use anomaly detection techniques to help critically ill patients (e.g. stroke) and to recognize events in radio networks (e.g. rain or wind). I will discuss the methods used\, their limitations and show how to find the best methods in both cases. You will learn what the anomaly detection techniques show\, how to interpret their results and when to trust them.

Marjan Sirjani (MDU) talks about cybersecurity\, safety\, and resilience and the ongoing research in some of the projects on cybersecurity at MDU. \nThere will be talks on Automotive Cybersecurity\, Nasser Nowdehi (Volvo Cars) explores the current and future state of automotive cybersecurity and its challenges; Stefan Marksteiner (AVL/AT) talks about automated cybersecurity testing\, and Barbara Gallina (MDU) talks about the automotive standards and regulations from a multi-concern perspective. \nKim Hyldgaard (Grundfos) explains how in a supply chain attack it is difficult to deal with the vast attack surface\, and he will look at some of the challenges and a few mitigating initiatives. Sheela Hariharan and Talvén Jarmo (VCE) will talk about Cybersecurity in Construction Machinery. Fereidoun Moradi (MDU) will explain how a tiny digital twin can improve attack detection at runtime and help in cyber-resilience. \nEdward Lee (UC Berkeley) talks about consistency and availability in cyber-physical systems and how that affects safety. Soroush Bateni (UTD) uses an open-source full-stack autonomous driving software\, Autoware.Auto 1.0\, which relies on ROS 2 to demonstrate how the arbitrary ordering in the handling of messages (caused by communication timing not handled properly by the ROS 2 framework) can be a significant problem. He presents an alternative framework for real-time distributed embedded systems. \nFind the way to Mälardalen University:\nMap and directions in google maps >>
