How does Software Center work with sustainability?

Creating a sustainable life-cycle is paramount for the long-term success of all products. Here at Software Center, we are dedicated to advancing sustainability through two key initiatives:

  • Software Center Sustainability Workshop Series
  • Sustainability Work in the CoDig Competence Center

Software Center Sustainability Workshop Series: Our workshop series serves as a collaborative platform for Software Center partner companies to share their sustainability initiatives, exchange experiences, and receive support for their endeavors. The discussions sparked by these presentations touched upon various topics, including product variability and safety in circular solutions. During our recent session on January 12th, we had the privilege of hearing from esteemed speakers:

  • Nadja Bergqvist from Volvo AB provided an illuminating overview of Volvo’s Sustainability Roadmap, emphasizing their commitment to climate action, resource efficiency, and social responsibility.
  • Birgit Penzenstadler from Chalmers introduced us to the Sustainability Awareness Framework (https://www.suso.academy/en/sustainability-awareness-framework-susaf/), offering valuable insights into the economic, technical, environmental, individual, and social dimensions of sustainability.

Next workshop is March 15th.

Sustainability Work in the CoDig Competence Center: Aligned with Vinnova’s focus on sustainability, our CoDig competence center is embarking on a journey to integrate sustainability aspects into our work. Starting from the 17 global goals for sustainable development outlined by the United Nations, we will engage in workshops to set goals and explore actions that contribute to sustainable development. Our esteemed working group comprising experts from various institutions is dedicated to driving this initiative forward.

As we delve into these sustainability endeavors, we invite all members of our community to join us in shaping a more sustainable future for software development.
