Software Center joined by new partner Einride

Swedish transport technology company Einride has joined Software Center to strengthen its software capabilities in autonomous and electric transport, while contributing with new perspectives from a fast-growing, software-driven company.

Einride has joined Software Center as an industry partner, aiming to further advance its software development within some of the most critical areas for future transport systems. The company develops and delivers transport services where electric and autonomous trucks are integrated with a sophisticated software platform for planning, orchestration, and monitoring. As these systems grow in complexity, so do the demands on efficient and scalable software development. The collaboration with Software Center is a key step going forward.

“We want to build the most efficient software factory possible, especially for embedded software, where we can deliver high quality with strong customer value in every release. We are joining Software Center to get help with these things, both from academia and other companies. It’s about learning and continuously improving,” says Henrik Green, Chief Technology Officer at Einride and Head of the company’s autonomous business unit.

Bringing a software-first perspective to the community

Founded in 2016, Einride enters Software Center with a software-first mindset. The company has been built around modern software development from the beginning. Like many others, Einride is facing challenges shared across the Software Center community. Scaling data-driven development, leveraging AI across the organization, managing large volumes of data and integrating machine learning into safety-critical systems are important areas to develop going forward.

“We are a company built on software from the start, with people who have worked with software throughout their careers. That gives us a strong and efficient foundation. Going forward, we’re not looking for standards. We’re looking for the forefront of what is possible. It’s one thing to have a few people at the forefront, the real challenge is how we bring the entire organization along and fully utilize these tools,” says Henrik Green.

For Einride, joining Software Center is also about becoming part of a collaborative ecosystem where companies and academia jointly explore solutions to complex software challenges.

“I was a part of Software Center through another company and I have seen firsthand how valuable this collaboration can be. Bringing that into Einride has been a clear ambition for me. Our goal is to continuously improve our capability, quality, and speed. Software Center will be an important part of that journey,” says Henrik Green.
